She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Thomas Beasley and Stella Adams Beasley; her husband Lewis Patrick Powell, Sr.; her son Louis Patrick Powell, Jr.; her grandson Nicholas "Nick" Patrick Melton; and her sisters, Charlie Mae Grainger, Jeanette Johnson and Peggy Braswell.
