He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jim Murdock and Betty Murdock; his wife Joy Oline Neufeld Murdock; his children, John Carey (Kristin), Jarrod Cicero, James Clancy, Amelia Ruth and Callison Anne; his siblings, Danny Murdock (Bernice) and Becky Haddon (Doug); and his grandchildren, John Christopher Murdock and Marielle Rose Murdock. He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
