It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Monroe (Ninety Six, South Carolina), born in Greenwood, South Carolina, who passed away on March 4, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carol Monroe Herbert and Charlie Herbert; his son Earl Monroe; and his siblings, Betty Jean Herbert Long, Gloria Jean Herbert, Joseph B. Herbert, Horace Herbert and Leroy A. Herbert.

He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Warren (Earl) of Greenwood, Marilyn M. Martin of Lauren, Barbara M. Williams of Ninety-Six and James Henry Monroe of Columbia; his grandchildren, Timothy Warren, Earl LeVan Warren, Theron Warren, Michelle Monroe, Trixie Williams, Shirley Haggins and Patia Monroe; his siblings, Charles Herbert (Deaconess Ernestine) of Baltimore, Maryland, Benjamin Herbert (Shirley) of Baltimore, Maryland, Christine Herbert Barnes of Baltimore Maryland and Carolyn S. Herbert Butler of Baltimore Maryland; and his sisters-in-law, Darlean F. Herbert and Juanita Herbert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
