We are sad to announce that on March 11, 2025, at the age of 91, Nella Rae Godbold of Nichols, South Carolina, born in Florence, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Oscar Burney Godbold of Nichols; her parents, Benson Altman and Lessie Cooper Altman; her stepmother Elvie Altman; her daughter Katherine Godbold; and her siblings, Charles Altman, Freddie Altman, Teddy Altman, Donnie Altman and Monta Avant.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Godbold (Pattie) of Nichols and Teressa Godbold of Murrells Inlet; her granddaughters, Amanda Garner (Joshua) of Nichols and Samantha Godbold of Texas; her great grandchildren, Jade Garner, Jessie Garner and Alexa Laboda; her siblings, Linda Hughes of Johnsonville and Jimmy Altman of Gresham; and her sisters-in-law, Talou Altman of Hemmingway and Bonnie Altman of Georgetown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home (715 S Main St, Mullins, SC 29574). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
