He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom E. Hopkins and Mattie Bates Hopkins. He is survived by: his son Jeremy Robertson of Columbia, SC; his sisters, Mary Ann Robinson of Newberry, SC, Anna Wicker (Stanley) of Pomaria, SC and Sharon Hopkins Sims (Melvin) of Whitmire, SC; and his friend Merisha Caldwell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
