He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Col. William Wilburn and Ann Tyson Hursey; his wife Cile Purcell Hursey; his brother William Randolph "Randy" Hursey (Susan) of Tryon, NC; his niece Jill Hursey Hicks (Jim); his great-niece Sophie; his siblings-in-law, Trent Keitt Purcell (Vonnie) and Julie Purcell Thompson (Jerry); his nephew T. K. Purcell (Casey); his niece Leeann Purcell; and his great-niece Eleanor Purcell.
A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Aveleigh Presbyterian Church (1211 Calhoun St, Newberry, SC 29108). A burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at the Rosemont Cemetery (2699 College St, Newberry, SC 29108).
