With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maurice William Scherrens of Newberry, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 6, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Scherrens and Marion Scherrens (Kaiser); and his sister Marilynn Bernhard (Dave). He is survived by: his wife Sandy Scherrens of Newberry, SC; his children, Jessie Campbell (Greg) of Sneads Ferry, NC, Genevieve Scherrens (Salvador) of Clifton, VA, Philip Scherrens of San Francisco, CA and Dylan Mackeben of Washington, D. C.; his grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Nathan, Andy and Juliana; and his brothers, Mark Scherrens (Beverly) of Louisville, KY, Mike Scherrens (Vicki) of Sparta, MI and Matt Scherrens (Debbie) of Grandville, MI. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Wiles Chapel at Newberry College (2100 College St, Newberry, SC 29108).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newberry Fund at Newberry College at http://www.newberry.edu.
