It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mathilde Suber Smith of Newberry, South Carolina, born in Pomaria, South Carolina, who passed away on November 26, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Mark Smith of Newberry; her parents, Willie J. Suber Sr. and Edna Leitzsey Suber; her daughter Miriam Edna Smith; her siblings, Ethel Smith, Cornelia Long, Elizabeth Berley, Marie Sandel, Jacob Suber and Tommie Suber; her siblings-in-law, Katie Suber, Thomas Smith, Pat Long and Harvey Berley; and her niece Elaine Smith Story.
She is survived by: her sons, Dale Smith (Rita) of Lexington, SC and Vernon Smith of Pomaria; and her siblings-in-law, Helen Suber, Dollie Hallman, Barbara Smith, Dan Sandel and Raymond Smith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
