She was predeceased by: her parents, R. C. Jones and Osceola Wideman Jones; her brother William Wideman; her parents-in-law, Perry Bates, Sr. and Claudia Lee Bates; and her siblings-in-law, Walter Williams, James Bates, Sr., Perry Bates, Jr. and Shirley Bates.
She is survived by: her husband David Earl Bates; her children, Stephon Bates (Marian), Tarquiann Bates (Traci), Tarsha Smith (Corey), Trokya Bates, Tammuran Bates, Shandrea Williams Epps (Elbert), Deterrical Davenport (Jerome), Debarros Clamp and Johnnie Coleman; her siblings, Glendora Williams, Ophelia Moses (David), Dorthea Curry (Phillip), Jerry Jones (Veronica), Annette Thomas (Gregory) and Cornelia Tribble (Charles); and her siblings-in-law, Lourine Bates, Irene Bates Caldwell, Angie Palmer and Tony Bates (Joyce). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
