He is survived by: his wife Viola Pitts of Newberry, SC; and his children, Brenda Pitts of Newberry, SC, Jeffery Pitts (Yonnie) of Newberry, SC, Robert Pitts (Nikkie Walker) of Columbia, SC, Johnnie Pitts Jr. (Damaris) of Columbia, SC and Terrance L. Brown of Anderson, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
