With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Austin of Newberry, South Carolina, born in Prosperity, South Carolina, who passed away on September 5, 2020 at the age of 72. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Bookman and Mary Lou Stoudermire Bookman; her husband Robert Lee Austin; and her siblings, Gene, George, James, Malverse Bookman, Mary Edith, Laura Mae Bookman, Mary Frances Swittenburg, Naomi Wise, Rosa Lee Jones, Joann Ruff and Thelma Bookman.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Bookman, Mary E. Suber of Newberry, SC, Carol A. Limehouse (Cliff) of Prosperity, SC, Zonia A. Cureton (Shunpreece) of Columbia, SC, Randy Bookman of Rock Hill, SC, Calvin Austin (Margie) of Newberry, SC and Robert Bookman of Coatville, PA; her grandchildren, Nathan Suber, Jr., Na'Teria Suber, Jaheil Thompson and Tatyana Rikard; her siblings, Willie Mae Cromer of Newberry, SC, Edith Swittenburg of Newberry, SC, Carol, Georgia Bookman, Roy of Prosperity, SC, Albert of Prosperity, SC and Terry Bookman of Prosperity, SC; her aunt Florence Stoudermire; her uncle Willie Mack Stoudermire; her sisters-in-law, Hattie M. Swittenburg (Emory) and Bobbie Jean Ruff of Newberry, SC; and her friends, Dexter Gallman and Sherrill Floyd. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, close family members and friends.
