He is survived by: his children, Forest (Julia), Elizabeth and Albert Atchison; his grandchildren, Jonah Cobb, Eleanor and Mara Atchison; his sister Beth Thurmond (Sonny); his nephews, Chris (Deborah) and Scott Thurmond (Anne); and his cousin Jan Swygert (Dennis).
