In the vast expanse of eternity, Dorothy shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Dorothy farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy South and Lola Hughes South; and her daughters, Candy Kitchens and Crystal Bigham. She is survived by: her sons, Mickey Johnson of Newberry, Johnny Johnson (Lucy) of Newberry and Ace Johnson, Jr. (Kristin) of Hodges; and her brother Jay South of Simpsonville. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home (1724 Main St, Newberry, SC 29108). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel (1724 Main St, Newberry, SC 29108). A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at the Rosemont Cemetery (2699 College St, Newberry, SC 29108).
