He is survived by: his children, Octavia Williams Jones (Frank) of Newberry, SC and Jamaal Mathis of Acworth, GA; his grandchildren, Shontriska Gray of Newberry, SC, Deali Maitland of Irmo, SC and Ariel Mathis of Acworth, GA; his great grandchildren, Lanadia, Landyn Gray, Kamillah, Kaliah and Deali Maitland III; his siblings, Floyd Edwards Jr. and Bertha Mae White; his friend Walter Sheppard; and his former wife Deborah Sligh Mathis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
