She was predeceased by: her parents, J. P. Chaplin and Mamie Lee Chaplin. She is survived by: her husband Melvin Eugene Gary; her sons, Marcus Chaplin (Serena) of Inman, SC, Gene Gary (Taquila) of Powder Springs, GA and Samuel Ray Chaplin of Newberry, SC; her sisters, Jannie White Mamie Chaplin (Ben Suber), Susie Sewell (Ray) of Newport News, VA and Margaret Chaplin of Whitmire, SC; and her grandchildren, Myjere Chaplin, Honesty Britton and Gabriel Bethea. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
