We bid farewell to Alton Eugene Sutphin of Newberry, South Carolina, born in Pulaski, Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 17, 2024 at the age of 84. Alton Eugene touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jefferson and Mackie Nelson Sutphin; his wife Edna "Jimmie" Boland Parnell Sutphin; his siblings, Joelene, Harriett, Haven, Lila, Kalima, Garnett and Niki; and his stepson Clifton Parnell.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Pat Cagle (Will), David Parnell (Carol), Bill Parnell, Ernie Parnell (Lanette), Vera Duffie (Mike) and Gladys Sligh (Bobby). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
