He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford "Cliff" Benjamin Hoover and Jeanette Hutto Hoover; and his siblings, Ray Hoover (Terri), Doris Chavis (late Jerry) and Danny Hoover (late Karen).

He is survived by: his wife Frances Baughman Hoover; his daughters, Michelle Hoover (Bradley Williams) and Andi Rawls (Geoff); his grandchildren, Gabrielle Hoover (Kyle Weeks), LeAnn Rawls and Dylan Rawls; his great grandchildren, Jack Mitchell Weeks and Lily Ann Weeks; his siblings, Barbara Davis (late Wayne), Owen and Hoss Hoover (Pat); and his nieces and nephews, Shelli Stabler and Josie Williamson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
