She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma Etta Roddy (Barnette) and William E. "Bill" Roddy; and her husband James Vernon Atkinson, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Warren R. Atkinson (Reynolds) and Paul Atkinson (Shirin); and her grandchildren, Molly Atkinson, Kent Childress, Madison Childress and Aria Atkinson-Treadwell.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Second Presbyterian Church (438 N Church St, Spartanburg, SC 29303). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery (2408 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577).
