He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Elleneen Boyle and Samuel Augustus Syme, Sr.. He is survived by: his significant other Jerry Wayne Walker; his daughter Jane Grey Kenna; his son-in-law John Kenna of Atlanta, Georgia; his son John Stennis Syme of Davidson; his granddaughter Margaret Elizabeth Grey Kenna of Atlanta, Georgia; and also Margaret S. Womble of De Kalb, Mississippi..
