He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Kirby Suggs and Leatha Brittie Suggs; and his siblings, Bernice S. Anderson, Betty Lou S. Hammack, Thomas Howard Suggs and Jerry A. Suggs.

He is survived by: his daughters, Laura Fidler and Lynn Kelly of Columbia, SC.; and his great grandchildren, Rowan, Lakyn Harrell of Mount Pleasant, SC and Adeline Edwards of Charleston, SC.
