He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex McKay and Vivian Miller McKay; his daughter Paula Sutton (Tom); and his brother Robert D. McKay. He is survived by: his wife Nancy McKay (Smith); his daughters, Sharon Todd (Brian), Pamela McKay, Sheila Queener (Lawrence), Melissa Struppa (David) and Katie McKay; and his siblings, Joseph McKay (Sharon) and Joan Elland (Don). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made "In Loving Memory of Paul B. McKay" to the Alzheimer's Association, 1105 48th Ave N, Suite 109, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
