He was predeceased by: his parents, Colin Ramsay and Pearl McElroy Ramsay; the mother of his children Sylvia Lewis Ramsay; his son David "Todd" Ramsay; and his wife Marjorie Clark Ramsay.

He is survived by: his former wife Sylvia Lewis; his sons, Mark Ramsay (Maria) of Southington and Peter Ramsay (Rachel) of Southington; his grandchildren, Matthew John Ramsay (Lisa), Meghan Ramsay (Devin Lowe), Morgan Ramsay and Sophie Ramsay; his great grandchild Elijah Ramsay; his brother Colin Ramsay of Venice, FL; and his close friend Maxine Lardiere of Myrtle Beach. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
