It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lina Cartelli of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, born in Yonkers, New York, who passed away on August 18, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Francesco Sapienza and Santa Sapienza (Bonanno); her husband John S. Cartelli; her siblings, Rosaria Sapienza and Matteo Sapienza; her siblings-in-law, Doris Sapienza and Anthony Spampinato; her nephew Stephen Spampinato; and her friend William Gebala.
She is survived by: her son-in-law Paul; her children, John A. Cartelli (Caroline) of McLean, VA, Lucille London (Steven) of Port Jefferson, NY, Linda Noiseux (Paul) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Susan Battaglia (Brian) of Londonderry, NH; her granddaughters, Sarah Anne, Rachel Marie, Rebekah Elizabeth, Nina Paige and Amanda Jane; her great grandchild Ryan Vincent; and her sister Alfia Spampinato (Vera) of New Port Richey.
