She was predeceased by: her brother Sylvester George Abt III (Kurt Abt); and her parents, DeSales Abt (Bright) and George Sylvester Abt. She is survived by: her husband Richard; her daughter Christina Powell (Jacob); her grandchild Delaney Powell; her siblings, Mary Abt (Ave Gaffney), Jacqueline Schilling (John), Lois Baj (Sigmund), Karl Abt (Mary), Eric Abt, Kristofer Abt (Steffanie) and Nathan Abt (Tara); and her sister-in-law Carol Stirone.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pittsburgh Melanoma Foundation , can be made "In honor of Karen Stirone, 2022 Survivor, 2023 Angel- RIP".
