It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Simpson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, who passed away on July 3, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Simpson and Mae Simpson; his significant other Gail Simpson; his brother-in-law Herman "Joe" Gibbs; and his pet Addison Simpson.

He is survived by: his close friends, Crane Woods and Harper; his children, April Simpson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sylvester McCoy (Sherri) of Myrtle Beach, SC, John McCoy (Tyra) of Columbia, SC and Lee McCoy (Angela) of Dallas, TX.; his brothers, Edward Johnson Sr. (Joanne) of Washington, DC, Robert Simmons, Sr. (Rebecca) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Abdul Muhammad of Myrtle Beach, SC, Donald Simpson, Sr. of Brooklyn, NY, Tommy Simpson (Ella) of Winter Park, FL, Ronald Simpson of Brooklyn, NY and Randy Simpson (Pansy) of Hopewell, VA.; his grandchildren, Autumn Glover, Sylvester McCoy II (Grace), Sotonye McCoy, Jarrell McCoy, Dashawn McCoy, Jalen McCoy, Ashley McCoy (Torrevio), Christopher McCoy and Alyssa Williams (Xavier); and his nieces, Ashley Parker and Amber Jenkins. He is also survived by great grands, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
