He was predeceased by: his parents, James Douglas Sr. and Mamie Spurlock Turlington. He is survived by: his wife Judith Watson Turlington; his daughter Amberly Green; his son-in-law Brian Green; his grandchildren, Aiyanna Leigh, Briella Lynn Green and Brixton Green; his siblings, Andrew, Arthur Turlington and Janet Carpenter; his nephews, Andrew Turlington and Lemuel Carpenter; and his niece Melissa Carpenter. He is also survived by his numerous siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins.
