He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosetta Hemingway and Lamar Bryant; his wife Mary "Candy" Hemingway; his sister Caroline Wheeler; his sons, Carl L. Thompson and Jeffery A. Myers; and his granddaughter Quinisha Hemingway.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rosetta Moore of Myrtle Beach, Alicia Myers of Myrtle Beach, Sheketa Marquez (Daniel) of Myrtle Beach, Barbara Jordan (Winston) of Myrtle Beach and Elouise Alston of Myrtle Beach; his daughter-in-law Janet R. Myers of Tampa Florida; his siblings, Helen Wright (Carver), Brenda Bankhead, Edna Bryant, Julia Smith, Lamar Jr. and Jimmy Bryant; his aunt Carrie Hemingway; and his nephews, Patric Wheeler and Calvin Thompson. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, an abundance of great-grandchildren.
