It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Thompson Jr. of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, born in Hemingway, South Carolina, who passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thompson, Sr. and Amelia Thompson Callahan; his siblings, Willie Thompson (Cassandra) and Ann Barcus; and his pet Angel.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Benton; his sons, Preston G. Benton (Christine) and Dustin J. Benton (Samantha); his siblings, Harry Thompson (Anita), Jasper Callahan, Jacqueline Callahan, Shirley Powers (Jim) and Frances Callahan; his sister-in-law Cassandra Thompson; and his granddaughters, Tessa Benton and Rylee Benton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and loving friends, neighbors and clients.
