It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Thomas of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, who passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Robert Carraway and Mary Lou Nelson Carraway; her siblings, Clara Woods and Louis Carraway; and her granddaughter DaLiyah Clark.

She is survived by: her daughters, Darlena Young (Glenn) of New Haven, CT, Elisa Clark (Jeffery) of Midway, GA and Christina Goodman of Myrtle Beach, SC; her siblings, Mary Lee Carraway of Virginia Beach, VA, Jamie Carraway of Washington, DC, Rev. James Carraway (Rose) of Kingstree, SC, Dennis Carraway (Vickie) of Salters, SC, Antonio Teague (Amy) of Garner, NC and Walter Carraway of Myrtle Beach, SC.; her grandchildren, Dontrell Clark, Devion Clark of Midway, GA, Avron Young, Dajsha Knight, Amirah Young, Darrin Young, Elijah Williams of New Haven, CT, Glennshon Tomlin of Illinois and Diamond Goodman of Myrtle Beach, SC; her aunts, Queen Ester Cooper of Boston, MA and Mamie N. Williams of Kingstree, SC; her goddaughter Clara Woods (Ebby); and her daughter Elouise Williams. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
