He was predeceased by : his parents, David Byrd and Lillie Hall Byrd; and his siblings, Otis Byrd (Annie) and Catherine Byrd Walters (Edward) of Hartsville. He is survived by : his daughters, Karon Byrd Scarborough (Dean) of Hartsville, S. C. and Karla Byrd Beard (Walt) of Sumter, S. C.; and his grandchildren, Ashley Scarborough Previtte (Sam) of Concord, N. C., Amanda Scarborough of Charleston, S. C., Kassidy Beard and Drew Beard of Sumter, S. C..

Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church (1569 Ruby Rd, Hartsville, SC 29550). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (1569 Ruby Rd, Hartsville, SC 29550).
