He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Edward Smith of Marion and Mary Lawrence Gaddy of Lake City, SC.; and his brother Samuel Edward Smith, Jr. (Zack). He is survived by: his wife Kay Currin Smith of Murrells Inlet, SC; his daughter Laura Smith Brant (Marshall) of Summerville, SC.; his brother Thomas Richard Smith (Sharon); his niece Leanne Smith of Murrells Inlet; his nephew Thomas Zack Smith (Kait) of Gastonia, NC; and his great-nephews, River and Redding Smith of Gastonia.
