He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Alexander Pender and Annie Elizabeth Plummer Pender; his daughter Sharon G. Pender; and his brothers, Franklin Thad Pender and Howard Melvin Pender.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Faye O'Banion Pender; his sons, Brian Alex Pender and Rory Brooks Pender; his grandchildren, Aleah Beth Hill and Brandon Mitcheel Edwards; his great grandchildren, Addy Marie Edwards and Nova Auroura Hill; his siblings, Virgil Pender (Ernestine) of Fayetteville, NC., Kathleen Ham of Society Hill, SC and Evelyn Atkinson of Lynchburg, SC.; and his nieces and nephews, Lynette Mckenzie, Glenda Ellison, Gale Fryer, Phyliss Gandy, Buddy Ham, James Pender, Michael Pender, Debbie Jackson and Tracey Welsh.
