He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Alvin and Mims; and his brothers, Cecil Mims and Richard Shurling. He is survived by: his sisters, Debbie Shurling of Georgetown, Cathy Shurling of North, SC and Lisa Shurling Barnes of Aiken, SC; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Baker, Charlene Hussey, Jamie Strickland, Demi Shurling, Cecil Mims, Jr., Tony McRae, Thomas Shurling and Michael Shurling. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cousins.
