He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Eddie Wise" Robert Hunter Sr. and Ruby Anis Hunter (Josey); his children, Deborah Kaye Hunter, Sandra Jean Hunter and Robert Wayne Hunter; his siblings, Adrian Hunter, Ronald Hunter, David Hunter, Richard Hunter, Gregory Hunter, Anthony Hunter and Cynthia Hunter; and his grandson Alex Stirlen.
He is survived by: his daughter Katherine Sue Clifton (Scott) of Naperville, Illinois; his siblings, Steven Hunter (Colleen) of California, Phillip Hunter of Oregon, Jon Hunter (Linda) of South Carolina and Linda Davis of Maryland; and his grandchildren, Brian Crew, Melanie Crew, Kristin Turner (Steve), Morgan Clifton, Anthony Clifton (Felicity), Jennifer Stirlen, Sarah Mitchell (Justin), Julia Mathis (Jesse), Tate McCleery, Samuel Hunter (Paige) and Kelsey Hunter. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
