With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerri McDaniel Safrit (Murrells Inlet, South Carolina), born in High Point, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 11, 2025 at the age of 70. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Tom Eugene Safrit; her son Jeremy Tucker (Mary); her stepdaughters, Charlotte Pratapas (Phil) and Amanda Barker (Kevin); her grandchildren, Christian Wolfe, Stephan Tucker, Alexandria Pratapas, Olivia Pratapas and Kaitlyn Honeycutt; her siblings, Kristy Frazier (Stan), Johnny Suggs (Sandra), Luann Elliott (late Tony) and Kim Whitney; her parents, Rufus Suggs and Hilda Suggs; and her pet Tripp.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services (3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576). A reception was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Carolina Memorial Park (3101 S Cannon Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28081).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Horry County Republican Women's Club for the Gerri McDaniel Memorial Fund.
