She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Daniel McLaurin and Dorothy "Dot" Ouzts McLaurin; her son Johnathan M. Whitaker; her husband N. David DuRant, Sr. of Murrells Inlet; her daughter Lexi Smith (Noah Destefano) of Murrells Inlet; her grandchildren, Grayson Whitaker, Jordan Whitaker, Kennedy Whitaker, Cameron Destefano and Xander Destefano; and her siblings, Maryanne Norwood and Mark Jedrewski (Julie).
