He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnfin Hansen and Olga Hansen; his sister Bodil Kristin; and his son-in-law Nick Keefe. He is survived by: his wife Sophia; his daughters, Amy (Israel Soong) and Melissa (Robert Murren); and his grandsons, Caleb, Gabriel, Tyler, Jacob and Eli.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity Al deeply cared about.
