He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Asbury Ray and Ludie Mae Williamson Ray; his former wife Sara Agnes Williamson Ray; his wife Margaret Calder Ray; his daughter-in-law Peggy Ray; and his stepdaughter Jo Cheryl Thrash.

He is survived by: his family Banana Pudding; his children, Ruby Ray of Mullins, LeRoy Ray of Mullins, Darlene Brigman (Terry) of West Virginia, Willie Ray (Teri) of Oklahoma and Danny Ray of Mullins; and his stepdaughters, Judy Floyd of Marion and Patricia Thompson (Tonie) of Loris.
