It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joene Joy Higgins of Mullins, South Carolina, born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 26, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Chekonik and June Gilberta Pearce Chekonik; her former husband Tyrone James Higgins; her brother David Joseph Chekonik; and her grandson Ty Higgins.
She is survived by: her husband Ty; her sons, Trent Higgins of Quincy, California and Tommy Higgins (Amanda) of Quincy, California; her sister-in-law Nancy Chekonik of Marion; her grandchildren, Brandon Higgins, Tarah Higgins, Allison Higgins, Kayla Isitt, Tyler Mecum, Aaron Mecum, Elizabeth Joene Higgins and Alyssa Heskin; and her pets, Rachel, Lucy and Lulu. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew.
