He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Judie Winningham Hooks; his parents, Lynn Owens Bessetti and Jimmy Hooks; his daughters, Christine Hooks of Mullins and Rebecca Hooks of Florence; his granddaughters, Gabrielle Johnson of Mullins and Gracie Blackwell of Timmonsville; his brother Matt Bessetti (Crissy) of Mullins; his aunts and uncles, Carla Owens of Mullins, Judy Laxton of Mullins, Jackie Strickland of Mullins, Marie Hooks of Columbia, Betty Hooks of Columbia, Wanda Graham of Bayboro, Johnny Hooks of Mullins, Cecil Hooks of Mullins, Aubrey Hooks of Virginia and Mitchell Owens of Florence; his great-aunts, Pauline Brown of Mullins, Betty Martin of Martin, Mary "Skeeter" Lewis of Nichols, Betsy Graham and Susie Martin of Ridgeville; his mother-in-law Faye Winningham of Nichols; and his sisters-in-law, Estelle Elliott (Skeeter) of Nichols and Susan Cook (Kevin) of Nichols. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
