She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lacy Hardwick, Sr. and Agatha Johnson Hardwick; her husband Rupert W.; her brother J. L. Hardwick (Zip); her niece Jeanne Webster; and her nephew Ernie Hinson.
She is survived by: her son Rupert W. "Smitty" Smith, III; her sister Grace Hinson Grice of Mullins; her niece Susan Ford (Travis) of Myrtle Beach; her nephew Randy Hinson (Mary Lynn); her close friend Brenda Housand (Pete) of Marion; her pet Bean; and also Sherrie Hinson of Mullins.
