He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Johnson and Sallie Johnson; his husband Bert Owens; and his siblings, Ora Mae Allen and Essie Jenerette.
He is survived by: his children, Dwayne Owens (Barrie) of Riverside, C. A., Sheila Owens Stroud (Roy) of Bennettsville, S. C. and Regina Owens Brown (Tommy) of Mullins, S. C; his grandchildren, Brittany Stroud Branch (Josh) of Bennettsville, S. C., Chelsea Elizabeth Stroud (Cody) of Hilton Head, S. C. and Randy Chase Taylor of Aynor, S. C.; and his brother Robert Leston Johnson of Fort Walton Beach, FL. He is also survived by three nieces and three nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave N Ste 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 or to the local Humane Society in Ms. Bruce's name, Marion County Animal Shelter. 123 Cat and Dog Road.
