He was predeceased by: his parents, John S. Carter and Elsie Smith Carter; and his brother John Smith Carter, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Morrison Carter of Berkeley Lake; his daughter Georgia Griffin; his son-in-law Gabe Griffin of Lawrenceville; his son Brandon Carter; his daughter-in-law Ellen Carter of Fort Mills; his sister Rae Maria Floyd of Columbia; and his grandchildren, Harrison, Ryan and Emory.
