She was predeceased by: her husbands, Frank S. Newman, Sr. and William V. Bowers, Jr.; her parents, Benjamin H. Lesesne and Ruth Cannon Lesesne; her foster parents, Eugene Harris Clark and Sophie Thomas Clark; and her siblings, David Lesesne and Willie Ruth Matthews.
She is survived by: her son Frank S. Newman, Jr. (Cindy Hendrick) of Mt. Pleasant; and her grandchildren, Sheldon Lesesne Newman of Mt. Pleasant and Allie Elizabeth Newman of Charleston.
