James Earl Richmond Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Earl Richmond of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, who passed away on April 24, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. As James Earl departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James Earl may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James Earl leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Willard Richmond and Helen Blue Bateman. He is survived by: his wife Lucy Richmond; his children, William J. Richmond (Carey), Kathryn Brooke Rieman (Joseph), Stephen Anthony Ramos (Danielle) and David Probasco (Matthew); and his sisters, Vicki Gareau (Larry) and Sharon Balard. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.
Additionally, the Space Foundation, in partnership with other agencies, presented Mr. Richmond with the Alan Shepard Technology in Education award.
