He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Lee and Lillie Gay Olive Hughes; and his brother Paul F. Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Bailey Hughes; his children, Candy Thornton (Phillip) of Glenn Springs, SC and Mark Hughes (Kristen) of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Bailey Thornton of Charlotte, NC, Samantha Thornton of Spartanburg, SC, Zachary Hughes and Nolan Hughes of Spartanburg, SC; his great grandchildren, Brantley Scott Hughes and John Daniel Hughes of Spartanburg, SC; and his siblings, W. R. Hughes (Yvonne) of Spartanburg, SC and Judy Knight (Ashby) of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
