He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lee Ray and Jimmie Gertrude Brown Ray; his wife Edith Barnett Ray; and his siblings, Estelle Worthy, Dewey, Carl, Defoy, Leroy and Henry Ray.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Ray (Leila) of Moore, Lisa Watson (Chip) of Spartanburg and Tim Ray (Lucia) of Woodruff; and his siblings, Ralph Ray (Betty) of Moore, Grace Brady of Moore and Elizabeth Quinn of Duncan. He is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchild.
