He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Shull Swanger; his children, Michael (Becky) of Knoxville, TN, Jason (Kelly) of Spartanburg, SC and Stephen (Alex) of Savannah, GA; his grandchildren, Ethan, Samuel, Averie, Adah, Reagan and Sydney; his sister Brenda Cleveland of Fountain Inn, SC; and his friend Bill Knapp.
