He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nelson and Sophie Nelson; and his brother Barry Nelson. He is survived by: his sons, Stephen Ferrette (Unique Myers-Ferrette), Ricky Nelson, Jr., William Nelson and Matthew Nelson; his grandson Stephen Ferrette, Jr.; and his sister Wanda Nelson. He is also survived by cousins, friends, and his beloved church family.
Viewing was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gethers Funeral Home - Moncks Corner (200 Grace St, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wesley United Methodist Church (1008 Sugar Hill Dr, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at the Old Nazareth Cemetery (2205 Wampee Dr, Pinopolis, SC 29469).
