He is survived by: his parents, Richard Elgin Ackerman, Sr. and Patricia Villanueva Ackerman; and his siblings, Lorna Lynn Bunch (Tony) of Moncks Corner, Loretta Jean Reeves (Rufus, III) of Moncks Corner and Mason T. Ackerman (Elaine) of Charleston. He is also survived by three nephews, three great nephews and a great niece.
